Bacteria is cured by antibiotics. The trick is to find out which bacteria is the cause. Then use the right antibiotic. Eating yogurt several times a day while on the antibiotics will help also...

I think I have a good idea of long term remedies. But I want the odor and discharge to clear up even quicker. I'm weary of an antibiotic, but I think I'm going to go ahead and try the antibiotic along with home remedies that will hopefully help restore any good bacteria that the medicine kills. I've been dealing with this for a month, seen my doctor twice, had to call them twice and I feel that my doctor is just dismissing me and not taking me serious enough. So I'm going to schedule an appointment with my OBGYN instead and take an antibiotic if that is what she recommends along with natural treatments. But in the meantime that neither of the offices have called me back, what can I do to get rid of the smell? It's so embarrassing, I've never dealt with it this bad.
Hi
there are a number of bacterial vaginosis natural cures which you can make use of to get rid of the fishy vaginal odor. There is no single cure for vaginal odor caused due to vaginosis. What you need to do is to make use of simple home remedies and take certain preventive measures to eliminate the vaginal smell.

Seriously help only please!
About 5 months ago I was experience vaginal discharge and a fishy odor. The discharge was white, cottage cheese like and smelly. I left it for a few months, just thinking I was going through some phase. When I was first going through it, I started dating a new guy. We were not sexually active for about a month in. He would never go down on me and I knew exactly why, because what kind of guy wants to go down on a girl when shes smelly! I've NEVER had this problem before, no discharge nothing, it came pretty randomly. Anyways, it really started to hit me, I was feeling uncomfortable and didn't want to do anything sexually with my guy. So, I though it was time to take care of this problem. I did a lot of research and came to the decision on my own that I had Bacterial Vaginosis. I tried a lot of home remedies that were mentioned online, and nothing would get rid of it. So I took a step and went to the doctors. I got a pap test and results were that I had Bacterial Vaginosis. So my doctor gave a prescription for these things called Ovules that you do for 10 days every night before bed. I'd have to insert them directly into my vagina. It started going away after a few days and by the 10th day, my problem was completely gone. I was SO beyond happy. And my boyfriend noticed a difference down below and started going down on me. That was about a month ago. A few days ago, I started to notice a discharge again and a bit of a smell. I read that Bacterial Vaginosis usually comes back and you can't get rid of it. I don't believe that, I know it comes back cause obviously it is happening to me, but there MUST be a way to get rid of it completely.
So what should I do? Should I go back to the doctors so he can give me another prescription that I can waste another 40 bucks on? Or what should I do? I can't live with it any longer, I'm only 19!
Sorry, you do have to go back to the doctor. You may have to do another cycle to treat that condition. However, there are a few basic things you could do to lower your risk: use condom and wash the vagina from the front to the rear.
There are also a few people that recommend using natural yogurt on the vagina, as the bacillus of it help destroying the bacteria. They say to use 1 time a day for 5 days, when you start feeling like that. However, I never seen someone really trying it, so I can't tell you for sure if it works...

I believe I have BV, I've had the symptoms for several months and even though I stay super hygienic down there (change underwear once or twice a day, keep the area clean (but not too clean to where the good bacteria is washed away) and I don't have any money to see a doctor. Are there any home remedies? Or even if I did see a doctor how much would that be?
The only way to deal with BV is with antibiotics. Period.
Sorry but there are no home methods, it's a bacterial infection which needs real treatment, I can't tell you the cost of a doctor either as I'm in the UK and obviously we don't pay for doctors over here.
Having bacterial vaginosis doesn't mean you're unhygienic, in fact BV is commonly caused by being 'too hygienic' by washing too often or by using soaps or washes, also sex can increase risk of BV, using tampons can also cialis no rx be a major cause, and then sometimes it just happens without cause.
Do NOT douche as someone suggested.
Douching is harmful because it effects vaginal pH in turn effecting healthy bacterial growth so it would make the infection worse, it cleans away discharge needed to protect vaginal walls so leaves you at higher risk of STD's, TSS and cervical cancer, also douching buy Black Vigour online will force bacteria further up your vagina where it may lead to pelvic inflammatory disease. Douching is NEVER healthy, least of all when you have an infection.
Yoghurt or acidophilus pills also won't help.
Yoghurt is a yeast infection treatment not a treatment for BV. Yoghurt contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, a bacterium - this may help restore healthy bacterial balance, but not before you first deal with the infection by killing off the harmful bacteria.

i have bacterial vaginosis and buy Calan online prolly a UTI as well but i wanna cure it naturally. i cant go to the doctor i am financially unstable. they say you can cure it with natural home remedies but i once cured my yeast infection with yogurt and it went away with my period. so can i cure it naturally or not? please let me know how!
can't cure it with natural home remedies* sorry i messed up
A yeast infection is different then a UTI. You HAVE to see a doctor for antibiotics ASAP. If you don't it will get worse and get into your kidneys.

So here's a little background info. I am prone to yeast infections. I believe this is due to being on so many antibiotics throughout my life for acne. Now dont get me wrong I do not sleep around with a lot of people, but when I do have a new partner, I tend to get bladder infections. This time I think I have bv though due to a very strong, embarrassing almost fishy odor that is made worse with sex. New bf has been tested recently for stds and did not test positive for any. If it's worth anyhing, I also use scented tampons. This may or may not have something to do with it. I do not douche. Well I can't get into my gyno for a month so I decided to try some home remedies (h202 and tea tree oil douches, apple cider vinegar baths, probiotics, garlic) well I tried the yogurt tampon idea and when I pulled it out today(yes I smelled it to check For fishy odor gross I know) it smelled like urine..BAD. I only had it in for an hour and did not pee with the tampon in. Is there a reason for this? Could it be something other than bv? Any advice on how to get rid of this odor or treat bv or whatever else it could be would be greatly appreciated. I have to do something about this smell! Thanks guys.
Signs of bacterial vaginosis:
A white, gray or yellowish vaginal discharge
A fishy odor that is strongest after sex or after washing with soap
Itching or burning
Slight redness and swelling of the vagina or vulva
After using the toilet, always wipe from front to back. This may help prevent getting bacteria from your rectal area into your vagina.
Wear cotton underpants during the day. Cotton allows your genital area to "breathe." Don't wear underpants at night.
Avoid wearing tight pants, pantyhose, swimming suits, biking shorts or leotards for long periods.
Change your laundry detergent or fabric softener if you think it may be irritating your genital area.
The latex in condoms and diaphragms and the sperm-killing gels that are used for birth control can be irritating for some women. If you think one of these things is a problem for you, talk to your doctor about other types of birth control.
Avoid hot tubs.
Bathe or shower daily and pat your genital area dry.
Don't douche.
Avoid feminine hygiene sprays, colored or perfumed toilet paper, deodorant pads or tampons, and bubble bath.

I keep getting Bacterial Vaginosis and this is the WORST.. I asked my doctor and she was like it is common for women to have this. Is there a home remedy or something to stop this?
Very unfortunate issue...and yes docs do just kind of shrug their shoulders and say 'this is common'. 1.5% peroxide douche works well. you can pay $40 to have it compounded at a pharmacy or you can make your own from an .88 cent bottle of peroxide and water. 3x day for a week. also try rephresh. it says 1 every 3 days but can be used daily to help pH that is really out of wack. also use Brillant brand tampons...they are made specifically to help maintain pH and break the cycle of BV.
