okay, so i'm very concerned! i am seventeen years old, if that even matters? i went to my gynecologist and told her that i THOUGHT i might have bacterial vaginosis. [symptoms: creamy discharge, fishy smell, and during sex.. it sometimes either smelled fishy or like urine.]
i told her that i had a creamy discharge and about the fishy smell. i did not tell her about how it smelled like urine during sex because my mother was in the room and that was a bit awkward.
she ran a test and told me it was NOT bacterial vaginosis and in fact, it was a yeast infection. she gave me a cream. called terconazole. i was directed to use this for seven nights. so i did.
it's been exactly a week since i've last used it. [the seventh day.] and i'm not sure if the yeast infection is gone? because unfortunately, i got my period ON the last day i used it. the online prescription cialis yeast infection was never itchy.. so i wouldn't know if it's cleared up.
TODAY, my period is done. no creamy discharge.. so, me and my boyfriend had sex. [i know, sorry.] and the urine smell was still there. no fishy smell. URINE! and i know it is NOT the fact that sometimes a little urine comes out during ejaculation because i had an empty bladder.
before this yeast infection, it ALWAYS smelled normal when we had sex.
i also drink A LOT of sodas. and i hate water. hardly drink the stuff. at all. could it be a bladder infection? and how did my doctor not see it?
note: about five months ago i THINK i had a bladder infection.. i never went to the doctor for it. ever. but it was as if i ALWAYS had to go pee and when i did; my bladder never felt like it completely got emptied. it was a terrible feeling. it also smelled icky. when i drank a lot of water it cleared up. BUT then i started drinking a lot of sodas again and completely fell back into the same routine with never drinking any water. PLUS, i hold my pee a lot for a very long time during school. could i have possibly fked up my bladder?
i really hope for some good answers because i JUST went to the doctor. i will soon visit her again but til then, i want some ideas? i hope i didn't mess up my bladder because i don't want it to smell like that forever.
i also know it's not any kind of std because my boyfriend and i both were checked. together, at the same time.

I have a lot to say but i will condense my history with this issue as much as I can! I went to my OBGYN around 7 years ago and was told I have trichonomas. I took the meds and was back in the doctor with the same symptoms and was then diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis. I have since had reaccuring bacterial vaginosis over the last 7 years. I have tried every type of med orally and vaginally and that hasn't completely gotten rid of this. I had a cryo surgery performed to see if that might work..it didn't and I ended up having an ectopic pregnancy due to this issue. I don't know what else to try and i'm getting worried i will have to suffer with this embarrassment for the rest of my life! Would a change in my diet help..any suggestions or sincere advice would be so appreciated right now..i'm feeling hopeless and gross!!

This is kind of embarrassing, but I'll get over it. I recently finished taking antibiotics for a Sinus Infection, which left me with a nice little yeast infection...(or so I think.) When I got the antibiotics, I asked for Diflucan, because I normally get yeast infections with antibiotics, but this time it's different. I took the Diflucan on Friday, and I still haven't felt any relief. At first, I could tell it was a YI, because of the itching and the cottage cheesy discharge. That discharge has gone away, but now I have a yellowish/green discharge. Keep in mind, I've had Bacterial Vaginosis several times, and the symptoms seem familiar, but I don't have the foul odor...Just discharge, swelling, itching. I'm so uncomfortable. I HAVE been tested for STD's...ALOT (I'm kind of paranoid - even though I'm in a monogamous relationship)...and I've been negative for all the other common STD's. I'm at a loss....Anyone? Could this still be the YI or BV again? Ugh
Short answer is yes. You must go back & get checked. Especially if it is coming back but mostly to differentiate if its BV or vulvovaginal candidiasis. Ok so for about a week I have been have an extremely irritated, dry, and itchy vajayjay. Well today I looked and there was white chunks all on it, and I thought that it was the hydro cortisone that I had put on it earlier, for the itching. Well I just went to the bathroom again, and I looked and there were the same chunks, and I wiped them with a cottonelle flush-able wet wipe, and it kinda looked like wet toilet paper, but I hadn't used toilet paper the last time I went potty and I wiped clean, so it is not tp. Okay everyone, sorry for the false alarm... it was just toilet paper. I stopped using the tp and it hasnt happened again. sounds like its a yeast infection, not sure about the vaginosis, when is your next doctors appointment? if its still far away i would call and make an appointment as soon as possible, if there is an infection you will want to get it taken care of properly right away, you sure as heck dont want the pregnancy to have complications and pass it on to the baby.

I had answered this on your previous posting but in case you are looking at this one instead something called a super bacteria can develop. This is the result of not completely getting rid of the bacteria (which happens only when you take the complete course of antibiotics). When bacteria remain then they are able to develop a resistance to the antibiotic and then a much more severe infection can (and often does) occur.

I have terrible bacterial vaginosis symptoms and and antibiotics just don't work for me. I'm tired of useless creams and ointments, can anyone recommend something that works?
You can use home remedies like yogurt, garlic, and a few other things. I read a blog that gave other remedies that you can use that will permanently get rid of BV.
